2026-06-16

Agnieszka Pomaska welcomed to Gdańsk the Chairs of the European Affairs and Foreign Affairs Committees from countries across the Baltic Sea region. The meeting provided an opportunity for in-depth discussions on regional cooperation, security, and the development of strategic investments aimed at strengthening the region’s economic and energy potential.

The programme included a meeting with the Mayor of Gdańsk, Aleksandra Dulkiewicz, as well as a visit to Baltic Towers, a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility producing towers for the offshore wind energy sector. The delegation also visited the Port of Gdańsk, home to the largest container terminal in the Baltic Sea region, which plays a vital role in European supply chains and the economic security of the region.

Participants paid tribute to the late Mayor of Gdańsk, Paweł Adamowicz, by laying flowers at the memorial commemorating his life and service.

The central element of the visit was a working session held in the Coat of Arms Hall of the Gdańsk City Council, dedicated to energy policy and security in the Baltic Sea region. The discussions were also attended by Agnieszka Owczarczak, Chair of the Gdańsk City Council.

The meeting reaffirmed that close cooperation among the countries of the region remains essential for fully harnessing the economic, energy, and strategic potential of the Baltic Sea, while strengthening regional resilience and security in an increasingly complex international environment.
