Agnieszka Pomaska took part in a working meeting between parliamentarians and industry representatives, organized jointly with the Polish Offshore Wind Energy Chamber. The discussions focused on increasing the participation of Polish companies in the supply chains for offshore wind farm projects in the Baltic Sea.
Offshore wind energy represents one of Poland’s key development projects for the coming decades. Planned installed capacity is expected to reach 18 GW, with investment value estimated at approximately PLN 500 billion during the construction phase and PLN 200 billion during operation. The scale of the undertaking presents significant opportunities for the national economy, the extent of which will depend on the position secured by Polish companies within the process.
The meeting reviewed the current state of development of the offshore wind sector in Poland and identified key barriers limiting the participation of domestic enterprises. Potential measures were discussed, including legislative solutions aimed at increasing their involvement. Among the proposals raised was the appointment of a government plenipotentiary for offshore industry development.
It was emphasized that greater involvement of Polish companies in offshore wind projects would not only generate new jobs, but also foster the development of competencies and technologies, while strengthening the country’s energy and economic security.
Participants underlined the need for further actions to translate these conclusions into concrete measures supporting the sector’s development.
