On 9 July 2025, Agnieszka Pomaska, Chairwoman of the Committee for European Union Affairs, met with the Italian Ambassador Luca Franchetti Pardo.
The meeting took place at the Chancellery of the Sejm. The talks concerned current parliamentary cooperation and the most important topics related to the future of the European Union.
The Italian Ambassador congratulated Poland on its assumption of the Presidency of the Council of the European Union in 2025 on its X-portal profile, and stressed the importance of the URC2025- Ukraine Recovery Conference. Both sides highlighted the important role of parliamentary diplomacy in promoting shared values and priorities between Poland and Italy, particularly in the areas of migration, the EU budget and enlargement.
The meeting is an example of good inter-parliamentary cooperation between Poland and Italy and gives hope for joint work on the challenges facing the European Union.
