– So far, no services have looked into the privatization of Lotos,” said MP Agnieszka Pomaska of the Civic Coalition, announcing the filing of a notice on the matter with the CBA. – We don’t understand why there are more and more questions, more and more doubts, and unfortunately we are afraid that there is a second, very serious bottom here,” she added.
– There are more and more doubts surrounding the sale of the Lotos oil company. None of them have been clarified, which is why we are submitting a notice to the CBA,” said KO MP Agnieszka Pomaska at a press conference.
According to KO deputies, the merger between Orlen and Lotos is „extremely contrary to the Polish national interest.”
– Those responsible for the privatization of the Polish fuel company have in no way attempted to give a concrete answer to the questions of whether the interests of the state are secured, whether the interests are secured at such a difficult time for Poland, whether the assets of Polish energy, fuel companies are secured,” Agnieszka Pomaska said at Tuesday’s conference.
She added that there is information about alleged conflicts of interest of the law firm and the lawyer who worked on legal solutions related to the fuel market and the sale of part of Lotos’ resources.
– Today, the next step, which is part of our looking into the hands of this authority, is to submit a notice to the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau. To date, no services have looked into the privatization of Lotos (…). We don’t understand why there are more and more questions, more and more doubts, and unfortunately, we fear that there is some kind of second, very serious bottom here,” the KO deputy said.
– Whether there was corruption – we don’t know whether someone made more money on this than he should have – we don’t know whether PKN Orlen CEO Daniel Obajtek, who has no access to classified information, is convinced that this Lotos sale deal is safe – we don’t know. Or maybe it’s different, maybe he knows what the truth is and that truth he doesn’t want to tell. Today we expect all state services, including the CBA, to deal with this matter and explain it as quickly as possible,” Pomaska stressed.
