128 million pln to subsidise the purchase of textbooks and 2.5 million pln in the form of hardship benefits for educational purposes – this is how the government is going to support pupils in the 2012/2013 school year.
Subsidies under the programme „School starter kit” have been increased by more than 11 per cent as compared with the previous year. The support is mainly addressed to children starting their school education in primary school grades 1-4 of and in the 1st grade of a higher secondary school.
According to the data of the Ministry of National Education, 267,605 pupils used the aid under the programme last year , including 35,810 disabled children.
Additionally, the government will provide aid to children from families affected by storms and other weather phenomena, including in particular hailstorms and floods. They will receive a hardship benefit for educational purposes in the amount of 1,000 pln for each child attending school.
