The President of the Parliamentary European Union Affairs Committee Agnieszka Pomaska participated on 29th and 30th January in COSAC Chairpersons’ Meeting in Copenhagen, Denmark. Among the main issues under discussion were priorities for climate and energy policies 2020, the sovereign debt crisis, european economic governance and democratic accountability.
COSAC is a Conference of the committees of the national Parliaments of the European Union Member States dealing with the European Union affairs as well as representatives of the European Parliament. At the bi-annual meetings of COSAC, six Members represent each Parliament. In addition, the national Parliaments of the candidate countries are invited to participate with three observers each. COSAC meetings usually take place in the capital of the country holding the Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
