On 13-14 April, the President of the Parliamentary Committee on European Union Agnieszka Pomaska participated in the meeting of the Presidents of the European Union committee of the Riigikogu of the Republic of Estonia, the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania , the Saeima of the Republic of Latvia , the Senate and the Polish Sejm , held in Trakai .
After considering the draft LI COSAC and other important items on the agenda of the European Union, the chairman of the Committee on European Affairs of the national parliaments of Estonia , Latvia, Lithuania and Polish adopted conclusions and stressed the need to take the following actions :
They call on national parliaments to immediately start to build constructive , fair and results-oriented relations with the European Parliament in the new term , after the European Parliament elections in 2014.
They also emphasize that in order to successfully pursue further integration and consolidation of the EU, European citizens should feel ownership of the European project and to support Ukraine in order to strengthen its political and economic situation and the need for Ukraine a clear prospect of EU membership.
National parliaments , the European Parliament and other EU institutions to strengthen support for reforms within the framework of the Eastern Partnership , especially in those partner countries , where reforms relating to association agreements , including comprehensive free trade areas , are being implemented.
