Agnieszka Pomaska participated in the AGS Frontiers Forum, where she co-chaired a panel dedicated to hybrid warfare, alongside Sean Wiswesser, author of the book “Tradecraft: Tactics and Dirty Tricks. Russian Intelligence and Putin’s Secret War.”
The discussion offered a concrete illustration of how contemporary operations conducted by Russian security services function, encompassing, inter alia, disinformation, sabotage, and influence operations. These phenomena are not abstract in nature; rather, they constitute a tangible and ongoing challenge currently observed across Europe.
Hybrid warfare does not begin with conventional military action; instead, it is often conducted below the threshold of open conflict, with the objective of weakening states from within.
For European countries, this represents one of the most significant contemporary security challenges, while among some international partners, awareness of this threat still requires strengthening.
Such discussions are of critical importance, as they contribute to raising awareness, reinforcing international cooperation, and enhancing preparedness for contemporary security threats.
