Lower Fuel Prices – New Rates Now in Effect, Drivers Pay Less

2026-03-31

The government program “Lower Fuel Prices” came into force on March 31, 2026. On the very first day of the new regulations, drivers across Poland experienced noticeable price reductions at fuel stations.

The package introduces maximum retail fuel prices that no station is allowed to exceed. The new limits include PLN 6.16 per liter for petrol 95, PLN 6.76 for petrol 98, and PLN 7.60 for diesel.

The “Lower Fuel Prices” package includes several key measures:

  • introduction of maximum fuel prices,
  • reduction of VAT to 8%,
  • lowering excise duty to the minimum level,
  • limiting margins and additional promotions at fuel stations.

The maximum price mechanism is updated on an ongoing basis and takes into account the situation on the fuel market, ensuring stability and predictability of prices.

The introduction of the “Lower Fuel Prices” program has led to a rapid decrease in fuel prices at stations and real savings for drivers. The government announces further actions to stabilize the market; however, the future of fuel prices will depend on the international situation and the development of the energy crisis.
