Agnieszka Pomaska participated in a meeting with a delegation from the European Parliament’s Committee on Budgets devoted to the future of the EU budget and the security of Europe.
During the discussion, she emphasized the importance of a strong European Union budget that should preserve both Cohesion Policy and the Common Agricultural Policy, while at the same time increasing funding for security and defense.
She also highlighted the need for greater support for regions bordering Russia, Belarus, and Ukraine, which today bear the tangible costs of safeguarding Europe’s security.
Another important topic of discussion was the need to increase financing for military mobility and dual-use infrastructure on the eastern flank of the EU and NATO. Agnieszka Pomaska also stressed the importance of maintaining clear references in EU documents to hybrid threats such as disinformation, cyberattacks, and infrastructure sabotage.
The meeting additionally addressed fair access to funding supporting the European defense industry, as well as the strategic importance of energy, fuel, and transport infrastructure for Europe’s security.
