Agnieszka Pomaska participated on 13th and 14th of May in a meeting of delegations of the committees on European affairs of the national Parliaments of Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland, which took place in Gdansk.
Discussions were focused on the outcome of the EU Speakers Conference regarding the art. 13th of the Treaty on Stability, Coordination and Governance in the Economic and Monetary Union. Other related topics covered the parliamentary dimension of the Baltic sea region strategy – debate about the proposal of Lithuania delegation.
Meetings of the Committees on European Affairs of the Parliaments of Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland, initiated in 2005, are held twice a year before COSAC meetings, successively in each of the states participating in the cooperation.
The purpose of the meetings is to analyse issues on the agenda of the upcoming COSAC meeting, develop positions for COSAC meetings and take joint initiatives. The Polish parliament is represented at the meetings by members of the Bureaus of the European Union Affairs Committees of the Sejm and the Senate.
