2026-04-21

The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe is currently in session in Strasbourg, with Agnieszka Pomaska participating as a member of the Polish delegation. The proceedings bring together representatives of both the Sejm and the Senate of the Republic of Poland.

The deliberations focus on the key challenges facing Europe today. Among the principal issues under discussion are accountability for Russia’s aggression against Ukraine, questions of security and adherence to international law, as well as the protection of democracy from phenomena such as hatred and disinformation.

Human rights and civil liberties in Europe also remain a central element of the debate, constituting the very foundation of the Council of Europe’s mandate.

The decisions adopted during the session help shape the direction of action for Member States and carry significant implications for the future of the continent as a whole.
