MP Agnieszka Pomaska took part in a three-day visit to Ottawa and Toronto as part of the United for Ukraine group. The programme included a dozen or so meetings with members of the Canadian House of Commons, the Senate and the Legislative Assembly of Ontario, as well as representatives of the Polish community in Canada, journalists, non-governmental organisations and experts.
The main topics of discussion were security, the situation in Ukraine and the future of transatlantic cooperation. Particular attention was also given to defence cooperation, energy independence, economic resilience and security of supply of raw materials.
The visit provided an opportunity to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation between Poland, Europe and Canada. In the face of Russia’s aggression against Ukraine and growing challenges to international security, strong and lasting alliances, as well as cooperation between countries with shared interests, are particularly important.
