From 13–16 February, Agnieszka Pomaska participated in the Munich Security Conference (MSC) – one of the world’s most important forums dedicated to international security.
This prestigious annual gathering in Munich brings together political leaders and experts from across the globe. Heads of state, ministers, parliamentarians, and representatives of international organizations and expert communities take part in the conference. During MSC, the most pressing challenges facing Europe and the world are discussed – from the war in Ukraine, through energy security, to hybrid threats and the stability of the international order.
The conference is not limited to official speeches and debates broadcast worldwide. An equally important part of MSC consists of bilateral meetings and discussions held in smaller groups. It is often in these settings that key arrangements are made, coalitions are built, and cooperation between states is strengthened. This year in Munich, as part of the United4Ukraine initiative, Agnieszka Pomaska held a series of such meetings together with partners from Estonia, Italy, and the Czech Republic. The discussions focused on:
-
further support for Ukraine,
-
strengthening European unity,
-
coordinating the actions of countries supporting Ukraine.
The Munich Security Conference is a space for real diplomacy – both official and behind the scenes. It is a place where conversations translate into concrete decisions and actions that impact the security of the entire region.
