Over a dozen high-level meetings – in the House of Commons, the Ministry of Defence, the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, as well as discussions with politicians from both the governing party and the opposition – marked the last three days of the United for Ukraine delegation’s mission in London.
Together with parliamentarians from Poland, Lithuania, the Czech Republic, Finland, Italy and Ukraine, we held intensive consultations on the current international situation and emerging “peace plan” proposals. There was full unanimity during the discussions: the 28-point “plan” was deemed entirely unacceptable.
During meetings with representatives of the UK Government and Parliament, we focused on several key areas:

military and financial support for Ukraine

sanctions and the possible use of frozen Russian assets

assistance for refugees and ensuring Ukraine’s access to international justice

the protection of children deported by Russia
During her address to the House of Commons Foreign Affairs Committee, Agnieszka Pomaska emphasised that Poland is today the world’s 20th-largest economy because it chose the path towards the West. This choice remains fundamental for us — also because, over the last four years, Poland has tripled its spending on security and defence. As she noted, if all European countries think and act in a similar way, our shared effort to ensure security will be easier and more effective.
