War at our borders continues, and the way it ends will determine the security of Poland and all of Europe. We understand this well in the Baltic Sea region, where provocations and hybrid threats from Russia have become an everyday reality.
On October 8, a delegation of the interparliamentary alliance “United for Ukraine” met in Berlin. The purpose of the visit was to raise awareness among the European public about the scale of threats and to emphasize the need for continued support for Ukraine.
Poland was represented by Agnieszka Pomaska, Member of the Polish Parliament and Chair of the Sejm Committee on European Union Affairs. Together with parliamentarians from Lithuania – Žygimantas Pavilionis, Estonia – Marko Mihkelson, Finland – Heikki Autto, and Sweden – Erik Ottoson, she discussed regional security, further support for Ukraine, and the role of the European Union in maintaining unity in the face of Russian aggression. Representatives from Ukraine also took part in the meeting.
The program included meetings at the Embassy of Ukraine, an expert discussion at DGAP – the German Council on Foreign Relations, as well as talks with representatives of German and European media.
This is an important time for building a common strategy and solidarity – because a free Ukraine means a safe Poland and Europe.
