Law and Justice deputies oppose the resolution of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe on Turkey 25.04.2017, written by Łukasz Bejm

At today’s Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), PiS MPs from Poland voted against the resolution on Turkey.
The resolution calls for, among other things, the abolition of the state of emergency and the restoration of democratic institutions. Members of the Congregation also appealed to the Turkish authorities to release imprisoned human rights defenders and more than 150 journalists, pointing out that repression, mass arrests, persecution of the opposition, media freedom and the threat of capital punishment are strongly opposed to European standards.
